 Window, television and dresser damaged in burglary

 The burglary of a residence in the 1000 block of Hill Street was reported at approximately 7:40 p.m., Dec. 23. A window valued at approximately $75, a television valued at approximately $250 and a dresser valued at approximately $150 were all damaged during the incident.

 Attempted theft

 A theft in progress was reported at a retail business in the 400 block of South State Highway 35 at approximately 7:07 p.m., Dec. 23. The would-be thieves, a 55-year-old Alvin woman and a 34-year-old Alvin woman, attempted to steal $179.37 worth of merchandise, including $18.78 worth of clothes and furs, $29.95 worth of consumable goods and $78.60 worth of toys before being apprehended by police and charged with Class B misdemeanor theft.

 Beer stolen

 A theft was reported at a grocery store in the 3100 block of South State Highway 35 at approximately 1:23 p.m., Dec. 23. The culprit stole $53.98 worth of Modelo Especial beer before leaving in a tan 2007 Honda Pilot.

 Vehicle stolen from dealership

 The theft of a motor vehicle from a car dealership located in the 3200 block of FM528 was reported at approximately 9:30 a.m., Dec. 21. The vehicle, a black 2020 Ford Escape, was later recovered.

 Man tries to steal knife

 A theft reported at a retail business in the 400 block of South State Highway 35 at approximately 2:58 p.m., Dec. 20 led to the arrest of a 58-year-old man for Class C misdemeanor theft after he attempted to steal a knife valued at $10.97.

 Man tries to steal lawn and garden equipment

 A 29-year old man was arrested for Class C misdemeanor theft after police responded to a retail business in the 400 block of South State Highway 35 at approximately 1:59 p.m., Dec. 20. The man attempted to steal $178 worth of lawn and garden equipment.

 Display case locked damaged

The damage of a display case lock valued at $200 was reported at approximately 11:49 p.m., Dec. 20 at a retail business in the 400 block of South State Highway 35.

 Vehicle stolen from parking lot

 The theft of a motor vehicle from a parking lot in the 2400 block of South Gordon Street was reported at approximately 10:10 a.m., Dec. 19. The vehicle, a white 2006 Ford F250, was later recovered.

 Attempted vehicle theft

 The attempted theft of a vehicle was reported at approximately 10:00 a.m., Dec. 19 at a residence in the 800 block of East House Street.

 Vehicle stolen from parking lot, second vehicle attempted stolen

 The theft of a black 2002 Ford F350 from a parking lot in the 2200 block of South Grdon Street was reported at approximately 6:54 a.m., Dec. 19. The reporting individual said the thief also tried to steal a silver 2004 Ford F350 from the same parking lot.

 Driveshaft stolen

 The theft of a driveshaft from a car dealership located in the 3000 block of FM528 in Friendswood was reported at approximately 4:15 p.m., Dec. 18.

 Woman arrested after attempted theft

 A 21-year-old Alvin woman was arrested for Class B misdemeanor theft after attempting to steal $254.60 worth of merchandise from a retail business located in the 400 block of South State Highway 35 at approximately 2:51 p.m., Dec. 18.

 Knife brandishing man steals money from gas station

 At approximately 1:28 p.m., Dec. 18, a male subject approached the checkout counter of a gas station in the 500 block of North Gordon Street brandishing a knife and proceeded to steal an unknown amount of money out of the cash register. Police are still searching for the culprit as of writing.

Man reports he was shot at home

 At approximately 1:53 p.m., Dec. 17, the Alvin Police Department received a call from UTMB-Clear Lake in which the department was advised that a male patient reported having been shot while at his residence in the 1000 block of East Adoue Street. The incident is under investigation.

Manvel Police Department

 Thousands cashed in fraudulent cheques

 At approximately 11:44 a.m., Dec. 16, it was reported that two cheques in the amount of $7,709 were cashed from a victim’s chequing account without their consent.

 Robbery in Rodeo Palms

 A robbery was reported at a residence located in the 20 block of Atascadero Drive in the Rodeo Palms subdivision at approximately 7:05 a.m., Dec. 19.

 Assault at residence

 An Assault Causing Bodily Injury/Family Violence was reported in the 80 block of Santa Barbara at approximately 1:27 p.m., Dec. 20.

 Assault in vehicle

An assault was reported as occurring in a vehicle behind a gas station in the 17500 block of State Highway 6 at approximately 9:17 a.m., Dec. 21.
