A Brazoria man is behind bars facing murder charges after allegedly stabbing his girlfriend’s daughter to death last week.
The Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 5000 block of Buck Road outside Brazoria on Monday after a 9-1-1 caller reported a stabbing. When deputies arrived, they found a 24-year-old woman dead at a home. The woman was later identified as Heather Dawn Myers and had been stabbed. Myers’ body was transported to the Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
During their investigation, deputies determined Myers had been in an altercation with 25-year-old Brandon Allen Black. Deputies determined Black was in a relationship with Myers’ mother. At the time of the stabbing, a verbal altercation was going on between Black, Myers and Myers’ mother.
Investigators believe Black became violent and stabbed Myers during the verbal altercation.
Deputies were able to locate Black on County Road 244 a short distance from the scene of the stabbing.
Black was transported to the Brazoria County Jail where he was later charged with murder. As of Wednesday, no bond has been set on the charge.
The investigation into the killing is ongoing.
