Individual arrested after attempted theft of speakers 

Police responded to a business in the 400 block of South State Highway 35 at approximately 1:35 p.m., May 11. Upon investigation, a male subject was arrested for the theft of one set of Pioneer TS-900M speakers valued at $64.97 and one set of Pioneer TS-600M speakers valued at $47.97. 

Woman arrested after fleeing from theft 

Police responded to a business in the 400 block of South State Highway 35 at approximately 2:56 p.m., May 9 after the report of a theft. The 20-year-old female suspected fled the scene after stealing a Weekender purse valued at $25.97, two bottles of Dove deodorant valued together at $11.88, two Bluetooth wireless earbuds valued together at $19.76, a G2 Gel Pen valued at $24.44, a package of Equate Flushable Wipes valued at $6.28 and a Kidde smoke and carbon monoxide alarm valued at $35.97. The subject was later located and arrested for Class B misdemeanor theft. The subject was also charged for being in possession of a controlled substance. 

Church vandalized 

The burglary of a building was reported at approximately 9:16 a.m., May 18. The Legacy Church had been broken into and $2,500 worth of property vandalized. A first aid kit valued at approximately $35 was recovered away from its original location. 

Manvel Police Department 

Credit card skimmers discovered at local business 

The discovery of two credit scammers was reported at approximately 10:51 a.m., May 7 in the 22500 block of State Highway 6. 

Credit card scanner operators found at local hotel 

Police responded to a hotel in the 19300 block of State Highway 6 at approximately 12:36 a.m., May 13, after a suspect attempted to rent a room using another individual’s identification. A second suspect was later found inside the room with credit card scanning and manufacturing equipment. 

Construction material stolen 

The theft of construction material was reported at approximately 9:49 a.m., May 13, in the 7500 block of Water Glen.

Lawn mower stolen 

The burglary of a building in which a lawn mower was stolen was reported at approximately 5:18 p.m., May 17, in the 7600 block of Bissell Road.
