The traditional Walk a Christmas Mile is slated for Dec. 9.

It will begin at New Hope Church with something new – access to their small petting zoo – at 5:30 p.m.

The traditional service of carols and scripture readings will begin at 6:30.

The order of churches will be from New Hope Church across Gordon and Hardy to Grace Episcopal Church, followed by the Presbyterian Church on Johnson,  the First Christian Church on Durant and the Methodist Church on South.  The Methodist Church will be joined by Templo Cristo Para Todos Assembly of God Church, which will also provide music and readings.

The city will make limited transportation available and, as usual, the police department will shepherd and provide security to those who choose, with happy hearts, to Walk a Christmas Mile.
