The personnel at  Community Health Network were notified that their Alvin location would become a testing site for the COVID-19 virus.  Adoue Family Health Center  located at 1111 W. Adoue St. began preparing their staff at once.

The men and women with Community Health Network understand their responsibility to Alvin and Brazoria County, according to Elizabeth Garcia, Community Health Network's Clinical Nurse Manager.

The company has taken all necessary steps to ensure that responding to the needs and safety of the community and its staff comes first, Garcia added.

By expanding testing capabilities to the company's Alvin location, they are providing prescreening and testing.

They are asking that, due to the limited amount of supplies and personal protective equipment available, the community get screened via phone or telemedicine before coming to the site.

Also, they are asking for a limited number of people per vehicle to reduce the risk of exposure.

All testings and screenings are being conducted according to the Centers for Disease Control guidelines.

“During this time, we are especially aware of our community's needs,” said Garcia.

“I know that this is a difficult time for our community and our families, but we are strong and resilient. Our commitment to the community has never faltered, and we are open and ready to serve,” Garcia said.

In addition to testing for Corornavirus, Community Health Network is keeping its doors open to the community.

The company is still accepting patients for non-Coronavirus related care.
