An art teacher at Alvin High School is now facing two counts of possession of child pornography, after various law enforcement agencies searched his house March 18.

Scott Burns, 45, was arrested and booked into the Alvin City Jail on Wednesday, March 19.

Earlier officials at the Alvin Independent School District got a tip that Burns, who has been teaching at AISD since 2003, was photographing former students as models in risque photos. The district’s investigation found that the former students, all females, in the photos were adults when the photos were taken, according to a news release from the district.

But the district shared its information with the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and that group decided to enlist other law enforcement groups to search Burns’s home in Alvin.

There they found what they deemed child pornography, police said.

The images were not of any students in the AISD, a district spokesman said.

Burns is now on administrative leave from the district and information about him has been removed the district’s webpage.

His bond was set at $60,000 and he posted bail to leave jail Thursday, March 20.
