Geneva Gonzales, age 83 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023 surrounded by her family.  Geneva was born on January 13, 1940, in San Antonio, Texas and was a resident of Alvin for over 60 years. She worked for many years as a supervisor in housekeeping for Alvin Community College in addition to numerous years working for Alvin Independent School District. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with and loving her family, listening to music, spending time at the ranch she shared with her husband and eating ice cream. She was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Juan and Margarita Garza, daughter, Eva Lopez, son, Paul Gonzales, grandson, Henry Palomarez, Jr., and brother, Gilbert Tijerina.

Geneva is survived by her husband Demetrio Gonzales, Sr., daughters, Stella Palomarez and husband Henry, Esther Salinas and husband Genaro, Cindy Tellez and husband Mario, son, Demetrio Gonzales, Jr., 18 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at Scott Funeral Home with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Alvin. Interment will follow in the City of Alvin Oak Park Cemetery.
