Michael Chance Dudley, age 46, of Alvin, Texas, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, August 14, 2019. Chance was born December 8, 1972, in Galveston County and was a resident of Alvin his entire life. He worked at Ineos Chocolate Bayou as an Operations Working Team Leader and was also a captain on the Emergency Response Team, the plant’s volunteer Fire Brigade.
Chance was preceded in death by his father, Michael Dudley; brother, Brady Knight; grandfathers: Marion Henegar, Charles D. Knight and Harold Dudley; and grandmother, Betty M. Knight.
Chance is survived by his daughters, Hailey and Madison Dudley and wife, Kristie Dudley, of Alvin, Texas; and parents, Eddie and Kyle Knight, of Coldspring, Texas. Special loved ones in Chance’s life were brothers, Chad Dudley and wife, Susan and Brian Knight; grandmothers, Lucille Dudley and Oletha Henegar; beloved dogs, Chica and Dobby Dudley; and numerous other friends and relatives.
Chance’s pride and joy in life were his daughters – he loved to spend time hunting and fishing with them. He loved teaching his girls new things and prepared them to handle all of life’s ups and downs. Chance also enjoyed hanging out with his friends and could always be counted on for a good laugh. His life’s motto, “I’m not here for a long time, I’m here for a good time,” was evident in every moment of his life.
Chance was a generous friend and was always the first to lend a hand. Chance was a strong role model for his family in his faith and gave his life to the Lord; he will be greatly missed and forever loved.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2019.
Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at New Hope Church 288 Campus.
