Buelow

Robert Lee Buelow, age 72, of Alvin went to be with the Lord on August 31, 2019. Bob’s life journey began September 29, 1946, in Rogers, Arkansas, when he was born to parents, Everett Christian and Hazel Ruth (Koster) Buelow. They moved to Alvin and made this place their home.

He married the love of his life, Brenda Faye (Hobbs) Buelow, on August 4, 1967, at Alvin Gleaner Church. Shortly after they were married he was drafted into the United States Army. He spent 18 months in Vietnam. He was very proud of his country and was honored to serve. 

They lived the majority of their married life in Alvin and became a treasured part of their church home, Heights Baptist Church. He was ordained as a deacon in 1989. Robert was a man of God and loved to teach the Men’s Bible Study at his church.

When he was younger he enjoyed spending time bass fishing. He also had a passion for classic and sport cars. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Hazel Buelow.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 52 years, Brenda Buelow; children: Kendra Kitko and husband Mark and Clay Buelow and wife Deanna; sister, Rebecca Buelow; sister-in-law, Linda Vest and husband Eddie; brother, John Buelow and wife Shirley; brother-in-law, Clinton R. Hobbs and wife Helen; and grandchildren: Ellory Addison Kitko, Olivia Grace Buelow and Robert Grant Buelow as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation began at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Lee Peoples officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heights Baptist Church Building Fund.
