Danice Whitten Leavelle- Cox, 63 passed away on January 07,2020 in Alvin, Texas.

Born in Houston, Texas she was the daughter of Giles and Jo Ann Whitten. She attended and graduated from Alvin High school and was a twirler and in theatre. After high school she was in modeling, then restaurant management, and had a landscaping company.

She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Alvin. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, landscaping, reading, and art. She will be remembered for her giving nature, confidence, leadership, and her love of flowers and having the best yard on the block.

She is survived by her child Channing Leavelle-Bartee and husband, Nathaniel Bartee; grandchildren, Cameron Bartee and Aubree Gallick. She was predeceased by her sister, Lynn Whitten; her mother, Jo Ann Whitten Smith; and father, Giles Whitten; and her grandparents.

Her last generous gift was to donate her body to science to help medical students understand neurological lupus, and further their educations. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Lupus Foundation of America.

Please join us for the celebration of the life of Danice Whitten Leavelle-Cox at the chapel led by Reverend Suzanne Smith at Grace Episcopal Church 200 W. Lang St., Alvin TX 77511 on Saturday, February 1 at 1:00 pm followed by a luncheon at the parish hall.
