Jerry Alan Mitchell Sr., age 81 of Alvin, Texas passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. Jerry was born October 21, 1939 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and was a longtime resident of Alvin.  He proudly served his country in both the United States Air Force and the United States Coast Guard. Jerry worked 20 years for  United States Customs as an inspector and firearms trainer. He was a member of New Life Worship Center in Alvin and will be dearly missed by all that knew him. Jerry is preceded in death by his mother, Opal Irene Mitchell; daughter, Tracey Parker; sons, Jerry Alan Mitchell Jr. and James Aaron Mitchell; grandson, Wyatt Alan Mitchell.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Janell Mitchell; daughters, Teri Wilson and husband Thomas, Tammie Parker and Teresa Rincones; son, Trent Parker and wife Danda; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers: Aaron Mitchell, Austin Mitchell, Walker Mitchell, Kolby Parker, Hayden Grounds and Anthony Rincones

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Jerry’s honor to the New Life Worship Center in Alvin, Texas.

Visitation was held from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Scott Funeral Home. Funeral Services were held at 10:00 AM Monday, July 12, 2021 at New Life Worship Center (205 North Beauregard Alvin, TX. 77511). Graveside Services were held at 3:00 PM Monday, July 12, 2021 at Mustang Lutheran Cemetery in Alvin, Texas.
