Lindbergh Elmer Lindy Ham


March 20, 1929 – Jan. 9, 2013

 Lindbergh Elmer “Lindy” Ham, 83, of Alvin went home to his Heavenly Father on January 9, 2013. Lindy was born on March 20, 1929 in Loyal Valley, Texas to parents, Benjamin and Nancy (Gazaway) Ham. Lindy was a lifetime resident of Texas and lived in Alvin since 1974. He married Rosa Lee Everett on May 11, 1950 in George West, Texas. He was employed by and retired from Hoechst Celanese Chemical Company. Lindy found his greatest strength in reading his Bible. He was a member of Alvin Missionary Baptist Church and those there were precious to him. He also enjoyed walking and conversing with people. He had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor, which will be missed by all of those that knew him. Lindy was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Lee Ham; his parents; and his sons: Lindy Lee Ham and Clarence Arthur Sam “Sammy” Ham, as well as brothers and sisters: Eunice Octavia (Ham) Dickens York Everett, Oran Oscar Ham, Harold Benjamin Ham, Elsie Mae (Ham) Treat Dickens, Clarence William Ham, Jim Martin Ham and Vera Lavern (Ham) Everett Jackson.

He is survived by his daughters: Arleen Faye Cummings and Judith Elaine Ham, both of Alvin; grandchildren: Angela DeAlmeida and husband Michael, Lisa Tipton and husband Randy, and Jeffrey Cummings and fiancé Lindsey; great-grandchildren: Xavier, Jaysin, Brandon, Kirsten and Tyler; and numerous other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held in Alvin on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Alvin Missionary Baptist Church and in Whitsett, Texas on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at Whitsett Baptist Church with Bro. John Raines officiating. Interment will follow at Campbellton Cemetery.
