Luke Frank Sheppard, Jr., age 91, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at his home in Blanco, TX.  Luke was born November 8, 1929 in Dallas, TX to Luke Sheppard, Sr., and Mildred Mae (Phillips) Sheppard.  He was raised is Corpus Christi where he later graduated from high school.  Not long after high school Luke served his country with the U.S. Army in Alaska during the Korean War.  Luke was a driven individual. He attended the University of Texas then night school at the University of Houston while working as an Electrical Engineer.  He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston and went to work for Monsanto Chemical Co. at Chocolate Bayou.  Luke retired from Monsanto Chemical Co. and became President of the Chocolate Bayou Federal Credit Union in Alvin, TX. In 1988 he retired to the family ranch in Blanco.

Luke was preceded in death by his parents Luke and Mildred Sheppard; his wife of 58 years, Mary Margaret (Smith) Sheppard; and his son, Luke F. Sheppard, III.

He is survived by a son, Walter K. Sheppard and a sister, Mildred Sheppard Jones and husband Robert.  Luke is also survived by nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives and dear friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date sometime in the spring.
