She was born to Lora Lee Fisher and Eugene Hugh Hodges on May 26, 1928, in El Dorado, Arkansas.

Tommie was preceded in death by her husband, James Wilson Beasley Sr.; and sister, Sue Francis Allison.

She graduated from El Dorado High School, attended Henderson State Teachers College and received her degree from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Lousiana. Following her graduation, she married James Wilson Beasley Sr. Together they resided in Shreveport, Louisiana, and Abilene, Texas, before building their home in Alvin, Texas.

She was employed by Monsanto Company and Conoco/DuPont before retiring in 1985.  Tommie was a member of First United Methodist Church, Alvin, Texas, where she was president of her Sunday school class for many years. Tommie delivered Meals on Wheels for several years and enjoyed travelling with tour groups with whom she journeyed throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.  Other hobbies she enjoyed were genealogy, playing bridge and fishing.

She was a proud Mimi to granddaughter, Caitlin Hogan Bronson (Aaron) of Shreveport, Louisiana, and grandson, James Wilson Beasley, III of Alvin, Texas. In December 2017, Mimi moved to Shreveport, Louisiana, to enjoy her new role as great-grandmother to Catherine Grace Bronson. She leaves behind many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
