Arevalo

Jorge T. Arevalo Sr., age 88, of Alvin, went home peacefully to be with his Lord and reunited with his wife May 28, 2019. He was surrounded by family whose lives he touched graciously. Jorge was born May 14, 1931, in Friendswood, Texas, and was a resident of Alvin, Texas, for 65 years. He was a devoted father and a very well-known active member throughout his community where he established a business. He was a man who loved to serve the Lord and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. On January 19, 1970, Jorge and his wife Beatrice Arevalo opened George’s Cleaners and Community Cleaners, which became one of Alvin’s most successful dry-cleaning businesses to date. Jorge worked alongside his wife and daughter, Carmen Castro, for well over 40 years. He built many lasting memories with his family at their bay house where he enjoyed relaxing and being able to teach and watch his family fish. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice D. Arevalo; his father, Doroteo Arevalo; his mother, Refugio (Trujillo) Arevalo; his daughter, Carmen Arevalo Castro; and brothers: Antonio T. Arebalo, Jesus T. Arevalo and Carlos T. Arevalo. 

He is survived by his sisters, Ana Arevalo Garcia and Elisa Arevalo Rimoldi; his brother, Andres T. Arevalo; sons: Johnny Rodriquez, Jorge Arevalo Jr. and wife Suzanne and Eugenio Rodriquez; daughters: Yolanda Diaz and husband Jenky and Cynthia Chambless and husband Chan; and son-in-law, Florentino Castro Jr. He also has 13 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends. 

Visitation will be held Friday, May 31, 2019, at Froberg at Oak Park Chapel from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. 

The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 1, 2019, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
