Richard Lee Wright, age 84, passed away on September 3, 2020 in Alvin, TX, surrounded by his family at his home.

Richard was born in 1936 in North Judson, IN to Edward and Mabel Wright. He is the oldest of eight children. He was a graduate of Purdue University where he earned a BS degree in Agriculture Science and later a MS degree in Education. He taught Vocational Agriculture in Indiana for 13 years and then in Michigan for 3 years. In 1981, Richard relocated to Alvin, TX and he began working for Santa Fe ISD. He taught Farm and Ranch Repair at both the Junior High and High school level.  He retired in 2002 after completing 21 years of service with Santa Fe ISD. In addition, Richard taught community education courses in Welding and Small Engine Repair for the College of the Mainland. In retirement, Richard enjoyed reading, researching genealogy, and cheering on his beloved Purdue Boilermakers.

Richard is survived by his spouse Sherrill of 63 years. He has five children: Richard K Wright of Alvin, TX; Michael Wright (spouse Sharon) of Florissant, CO; Lorin Wright (spouse Julie) of Traverse City, MI; Julie Wright of Alvin, TX and Kara Hill (spouse Darren) of Las Vegas, NV. He has 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. In addition, he has two surviving sisters: Louise Myers and Shirley Mason and many other loving family and friends.
