LAWRENCE

Billy Edward Lawrence, age 84, of Alvin, TX, passed away on September 21, 2020.  Bill was born June 9, 1936 in Houston, Texas.  Bill grew up in Huntsville, TX and eventually made his way to Alvin, TX where he resided for over 50 years.  For 40 of those years, he was the owner of Lawrence Wrecker Service, until his retirement in 2008.

Bill was an avid history and genealogy enthusiast.  He enjoyed talking to people, never met a stranger and was quick to help those in need.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Maria Brown;  parents, Matthew Early and Maggie Elzora Lawrence; son, Billy Jr.; brother Norman Lawrence; sister Lottie Mae Thompson.  

Survivors include Daughter: Kathy Lawrence Bost (Jay), Sons:  Don Hart (Betty), Michael Lawrence, David Lawrence.  Stepchildren: Debbie Womack, Doris Boyd (David), Connie Muehlenbruch (Robert), Gale Cambron (Danny), Pam Shimek (Arnold), and Dale Fischer (Nancy).  Bill was blessed with 24 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, along with numerous other family and friends.

A visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 7th, 2020 at South Park Baptist Church, 1718 S. Johnson St., Alvin, TX 77511.  A memorial service will begin at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Harry Stafford officiating.  Interment will follow the service that afternoon at East Sandy Cemetery, 5744 FM 1374, New Waverley, TX  77358 for those who wish to attend.  

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Bill Lawrence to the Alvin Senior Center, 309 W. Sealy, Alvin, TX  77511.
