Winston Breaux, age 80, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, January 2, 2020. He was born August 9, 1939 in Beaumont, Texas and was a resident of Alvin for over 50 years. He retired from Amoco after many years of working as an operator, pipefitter, welder and dockmaster. Winston dearly loved his wife and family and believed in spending time with the ones you love, including get togethers, fishing, football, golfing, camping and traveling (especially to Colorado).
Winston was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Bertie Mae Breaux, and his brothers Gary and Terry. Winston is survived (and already missed) by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Breaux; daughters, Laura Carpenter (husband John) and Colleen Barnwell; sons, Roger Breaux (wife Deedy) and Reagan Breaux (wife Vicki); sister, Jan Bayless; and ten grandchildren including Caroline, Evan, Chelsea, Leighanne, Garrett, Marshall, Wyatt, Weston, Eryn and Gabe; and one great-granddaughter, Clara. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Sharon Breaux, Gail French (husband Johnny), and Cathy Carter (husband Max). He’ll be missed by his relatives, life-long French High School friends and golfing buddies.
Winston was handsome, selfless, loving and kind. He saw life through a simple, appreciative lens, had a way with phrases and humor and came “unhugged” easily. He leaves behind him a void that can never be filled until we see him again in heaven; and a legacy of beautiful blue eyes, hand holding, practicality and optimism.
