ALMANZA

Felix Almanza Jr., age 71 of Alvin, Texas passed away Friday February 12th. Felix was  born October 24, 1949 in Alvin, Texas.

Felix was preceded in death by his parents Felix Almanza Sr. and Jessie Almanza, brother Armando Almanza, and niece Angela Almanza.

Felix is survived by his loved ones, sister Maria Adelaida Almanza (Dela), sister-in-law Diana Almanza, nephew Jacob Almanza, nieces Veronica Almanza, Amanda Chavarria and husband Robert Jr. (Chevy), great nephews Presley, Sylas, Maddox, and Memphis Chavarria. Aunts Tomasa Lopez and Connie Valdez, many cousins, Ministers of the Gospel, and friends.

He worked at Houston ISD for 32 years, as a teacher of History, Reading, ESL, and English. Continued education obtained his Master’s degree, was Dean of Instruction at Barbra Jordan High School and later Assistant Principal at Patrick Henry Middle School.

After retiring he attended Jimmy Swaggart Bible College for four years. He helped teach Bible studies at several churches before going to Spring at Crossway Ministries. He then became Pastor of the Power of the Cross Church. He also went on missionary trips to Honduras and Mexico in order to help teach, translate, and distribute the Expositors Study Bible to pastors. He was part of the Determined Campmeeting Ministers with the Message of the Cross, Jesus Christ and Him Crucified.

Felix will be missed for his loving and caring spirit. He was known to have a conversation with anyone one who crossed his path. He never missed an opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord and savior. If you ever needed someone to pray with you he was your guy. If you ever needed an encouraging word, he would provide that too. He was a gentle and kind soul that we will never forget.

A Visitation was held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Scott Funeral Home, with a service starting at 5:00 P.M.
