Jeri L. Hawkins, age 68, passed peacefully on Wednesday June 11, 2020 at her home in Alvin, Texas. She was born November 9, 1951 at Redwood City California in Sequoia Hospital to Clair Ellsworth and Marjorie Hovland Silliman.  She graduated from Sequoia High School and eventually had a career in communications. She married Jim Hawkins   on July 30, 1983 at the home of Curt and Jayne Williams just outside Woodside California. Jeri was very active as a volunteer with the Alvin Chamber of Commerce and received a letter from the President of the United States, George H.W. Bush congratulating her for being 8th in the nation for obtaining new memberships for Alvin’s Chamber. Jeri was a big influence to her friends and family when it came to home decorating.  She had quite the touch for gathering items for a  house and making it a home.

Jeri is survived by her husband of 37 years, Jim; her two cats Edward & Bela, left to her husband, step daughter Stephannie Sedgwick, husband Eric, grand- daughter Katie and grand- son Connor, step daughter Jennifer Hawkins Bishop, sister Jayne Williams of Woodside, California, sister Marilyn Dunick of Dennis, Massachusetts and brother Jack Siliman (deceased) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.   

Jeri touched the lives of many family and friends all of which will be welcomed to her visitation and memorial at Scotts Funeral Home, 1421 E. Hwy 6 in Alvin, Texas. Due to social distancing and to keep your family safe we have elected to schedule services in the next 6 to 8 weeks. We are hoping the disruption of our Nation caused by the Covid virus subsides, allowing everyone to reminisce, grieve and support each other in a more comfortable and safer environment for all our families.
