Herminia Gonzalez passed away peacefully from health complications on November 30, 2022, at the age of 88.  An Alvin resident, she enjoyed tending to her lovely garden, sewing beautiful dresses and cooking delicious meals for her family.

Herminia was a truly incredible woman.  She had significant strength and energy – always with a fiery spirit and finding the right words to pair with her sense of humor.

Herminia was preceded in death by her husband Fermin Gonzalez; parents, Marcial and Julia Higuera; and nine siblings, Josefina, Jose, Hermila, Bonfacio, Evelia, Piedad, Minerva, Jose Ines, and Maria Higuera.  She is survived by her brother and sister, Francisco Higuera and Teresa Higuera; two children, Juan Gonzalez and daughter-in-law Tina Gonzalez, and Amy Gonzalez; five grandchildren, Elena Gonzalez, Erica Gonzalez, Isaac Gonzalez, Anthony Salazar and Annalise Salazar; sister-in-law Elvira Higuera; nieces and nephews, Miriam Sarabia, Julie Higuera, Venus Higuera and Jose Ines Higuera Jr.

A devout follower of Christ and believer of the Lord, Herminia will be remembered by her unwavering faith and lively personality that helped strengthen anyone she met.

Herminia’s family will be receiving guest on Saturday, December 10th, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at Emmanuel Worship Center located at 2427 Friendswood Rd., Alvin, TX 77511.

A Celebration of her life will begin at 11:00 A.M.  She will be laid to rest at Oak Park Cemetery located at 300 Oak Park Dr. Alvin, TX 77511.
