Former Alvin Yellowjacket defensive back Gunner Olszewski has signed an NFL free agent deal with the defending Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots.

Details for the deal were not available at press time.

Olszewski is the second former high school football player from the area to sign with an NFL squad this spring. Koda Martin, who played at Manvel High School and also at both Texas A&M and Syracuse University, signed with the Los Angeles Chargers last month. Olszewski, who played his college ball at Bemidji State University, had also tried out with the Minnesota Vikings on May 2, prior to traveling to New England a week later for his May 9 workout.
