The Shadow Creek Sharks picked up their third straight victory and remained perfect in the 23-6A Football standings with a 59-0 shutout over Elsik Friday night at Crump Stadium in Alief.
Kyron Drones (11 of 14) passed for 180 yards and five touchdowns with the first two going to Greg Hancock (30 and 48 yards) to quickly put the Sharks (3-2 overall, 3-0 in district) up 14-0 in the opening period. Hancock grabbed four receptions for 108 yards and three TD’s with the other scoring grab coming from eight yards out early in the second quarter.
Armstrong Lawrence (17 yards) and C.J. Guidry (14 yards) followed with scoring catches, as well, while Duke Butler (13 yards) and Dylan Campbell (14 yards) added scoring runs. Matt Allison also booted a 38-yard field goal and Kasean Felton returned an interception 48 yards for a defensive score.
The Sharks’ secondary picked off Elsik QB Eric Daziel four times in the contest.
Shadow Creek next hosts Pearland on Nov. 13 at Freedom Field in Iowa Colony at 7 p.m.
Dawson 42 Alvin 7 - The Yellowjackets dropped a 23-6A contest to the Eagles Friday night at AISD Memorial Stadium.
Cole Erndt scored the Alvin touchdown on a two-yard run and rushed for 45 yards on 11 carries.
Tony Vidana led the Jackets on the ground with 68 yards on 16 carries and Jordan Torres chipped in 58 rushing yards on five carries. Daniel Blume also carried the ball four times for 21 yards and Christian Touch had one reception for nine yards.
The Jackets next play Strake Jesuit at Clay Stadium in Houston at 7 p.m.
